Svetlana Chobanova is an international trade law specialist with 15 years of experience in multilateral trade governance. She currently serves as a Policy Analyst in the WTO's Trade and Environment Division, where she supports WTO members through analysis and policy dialogue on key issues at the intersection of trade and the environment – including the global energy transition, carbon pricing, and biodiversity conservation. In this capacity, she supports member-led initiatives on trade and environmental sustainability, plastics pollution, and fossil fuel subsidy reform – efforts aimed at enhancing the contribution of trade policy to global environmental and climate objectives.
