David Unterhalter is a South African jurist and judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa. He is also professor of law at the University of Cape Town. Before he was appointed to the bench of the Gauteng High Court in January 2018, Unterhalter was a prominent advocate, specialising in public law, competition law, and trade law. He was called to the Johannesburg Bar in 1990 and took silk in 2002.
