Atul Kaushik

Fellow, Global Development Centre, Center of Geoeconomics for the Global South (COGGS)

Atul Kaushik has worked in the Government of India for 35 years dealing with export promotion, bilateral trade policy with North America, multilateral trade policy, cabinet office, petroleum, environment and climate change, justice, and the Parliament.

He has been India’s negotiator for dispute settlement and intellectual property rights at the WTO and climate change at the UNFCCC. He has served as Legal Officer and First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the WTO in Geneva.

After retirement, he has been working on development cooperation including triangular cooperation with Indian, US, and German governments, and has been advising various government and non-government entities, including having served as the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for Advanced Trade Research of the Trade Promotion Council of India.
